My Vegan Daughter

We were at my mothers baby shower, and one of her friends bent down with a platter on mini cup cakes to all the lil children, which of course Ravelle (my daughter) was there as well, she was respectful and didn’t let her grab one. But my poor little thing, of course that’s just a cruel thing to do to a 2 year old that just doesn’t understand why just yet.

How do you say no to a 2 year old? When every other child gets to have it?

Vegan Christmas

How did everyone go? Is everyone feeling ok?

Mine went alright, considering it’s my first vegan Christmas. Most people were respectful and understanding, my mother- who still baffles me considering she’s works in animal welfare and loves animals- was rude, unsupportive, made comments about my ‘plain’, ‘boring’, ‘yukky’, ‘freaky vegan food’, and tried making me feel guilty for not eating hers.

Oh and my nan and I had a tiff that left me in tears, because she now thinks I’m a bad mother who is malnourishing my daughter because naturally she’s vegan until she can decide otherwise.

Normalness vs Sleepyness

When I’m on my anti depressants I can’t sleep, at all.

When I’m off them I’m crazy, emotional, irrational and overly depressed. But I can sleep perfectly.

Which one? Sleepy or happy?

Radio Ad

I just heard a touching ad on the radio.

A little 3 year old child was speaking saying things like “my tummy hurts, I want my mummy…”

Then a man voice said:

“it’s a commonly known fact that pigs have the intelligence of a 3 year old child. Don’t by factory farm pork and support the end of this cruel and horrific industry”

I was hopeing he would say buy free range, and he didn’t :) I was a little bit teary, I’m so glad it’s being aired on a main radio station, bringing awareness around Christmas time. :)

I’m not too sure yet, I can veganise anything I loved, creamy pastas, lasagne, etc. But I love giant mushrooms with couscous, tomato and spinach on top, or giant mushrooms in burgers instead of meat, vegan chilli con carne, vegan shepards pie, vegan tacos :) But pastas would be my favorite I guess :)

“Respect other people’s choices!”…Umm Dear, the whole point of veganism is we don’t respect other humans choices to abuse, torture, and kill animals. We don’t recognize it as a choice; but rather unethical behavior, an ignorance, or apathetic nature.
We might choose to be pro-choice (because that involves only our species)
Or choose to be straight edge or not
But we don’t accept the choice to enslave, murder, and exploit other creatures.
